Hi!  I’m late posting this here (but I posted it on time on my main blog, www.geekgirl415.com!).  I am preparing to move this blog over to that blog this week so be sure to change the address in your reader or favorites.

Due 1/5 was our take on Electricity.  I did the standard power pole; a little boring  but I do like the balance of the lines. This was also the first time I shot in RAW format.  It is amazing the difference between .jpg and .arw when I looked at them side by side- the .jpg had added color/saturation that wasn’t necessary and just a little distracting.  I had no idea!

Next week is JOY.  Which is cool since my sister in law and newest niece both share that as their middle name!  I’m hoping I can work them into this somehow.  So- how about you? Ready to join us?  Click on over! Shutterboo’s Weekly Challenge 2011

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!  I am back!  After a year long break from project 365, where I sadly burned myself out of taking picture, I’m happy to say there’s a new challenge afoot.   

Enter Brooke/aka Shutterboo.  She is starting up the weekly photo challenges again this year and I plan to fully participate!  I hope, if you’re still with me, you’ll join in too.

Taken from my hateful Motorola Razr… cleaned up a little though.  The colors Saturday morning during my 5 mile run/walk were fantastic!  This is on Magnolia Ave, off of Westside Rd in Healdsburg.  The winery is Alderbrook.

Brooke, aka Shutterboo has weekly challenges- this week it’s TOILET.  Ya.  She’s nutz, right?  I spent about 20 minutes trying all different angle to make my toilet look somewhat photogenic.  I think this one will do.  Of course, some Moody Pop action was needed to class it up a bit.  Edgy, right?  Tough? Badass?  Get it- bad ASS!

Last Wednesday night, we went to see Anthony Bourdain speak at the Well’s Fargo Center here in Santa Rosa.  We weren’t supposed to take pictures, but I see that more as a challenge than a rule.  Remember Kramer and his bootleg filming of a movie on Seinfeld?  To Keith’s dismay, I channel Kramer when told I can’t take photos.

But hey- I’m not going to even try to sell this FABULOUS, Hi-Quality portrait.   Did you know that Anthony Bourdain isn’t human?  He’s an alien from the planet Red.  You can tell by his glowing red skin.   But he was still very funny and politically astute.  Keith and I both agree with Anthony when it comes to travel (although i realized that night i need to work on my “yes’s” when traveling, as it applies to loosening up and eating different foods).   Basically Anthony believes that we need to “be good guests” when experiencing another culture in another place.  That, and don’t wear black socks and sandals.

Shutterboo’s photo challenge- Brown.  I’ve been meaning to photography my favorite boots, and they happen to be brown!  I also threw in a fav sweater for some added brown.  A dash of Coffeeshop Moody Pop for some pizzazz.

A funny thing about these boots… in December, I was at a doctor appointment and the doctor commented on my boots- and knew they were Frye’s.  The doc was a guy.  Said he loved Frye and pretty much could pass them onto your grandkids, they last that long.   Today, I was at the dentist and he too, commented on my boots and knew there were Fryes. 

WHAT IS UP WITH MY DOC’S?  Is there some kind of doctor network that discusses Frye Boots? 

Dr. Duncan:  “Attention all doctors in Sonoma County- be on the lookout for BROWN FRYE BOOTS!” 

Dr. Lehman – “Roger that! I got ‘em!”

It’s pretty good that both docs are youngish, handsome, well dressed.   The one today gave me a recommendation for another style of Frye boots- ones he bought his wife for Christmas.   You gotta love a guy who appreciates ladies footwear.  SINGLE LADIES- GETCHER SELF SOME FRYE BOOTS AND LOITER AROUND THE WAITING ROOMS!  It just might work…

It’s the last day of 2009… how did you do on your Project 365?  Will you do it again?

Despite my “falling off the wagon” midstream, I am happy with the photos I’ve taken.  I’ve learned a lot more about my camera.  I plan on learning a lot more and hope to add some speedlights into the mix this next year.    But I think instead of P365, it will be P52 and then some.  Maybe I’ll post 4-7 photos a week and then pick from that the one photo that is either the best- or best describes the week.  

I plan on utilizing the resources out there as well, to help learn and inspire me- such as Shutterboo’s Weekly Challenge, DGrin’s weekly assignments and Splitcoast Stampers Weekly Challenges.  I think that will give me quite a few options and will be striving to get out of my comfort zone.  

I’ve met some wonderful people thru their blogs and scrapbook pages and I hope we’re all in this together for 2010!
