Today was my 3rd annual “Christmas Card Stamp a Stack”.  I had 10 people (3 on Friday, 7 on Saturday) come and make their Christmas cards.  This is one of the cards.  Fun day!

A daily occurrence at our house.  Mitzi is politely waiting for Trooper to finish so she can lick the plate. 

Look at the determination in her eyes.  She won’t respond to any of our calls or whistles at this point.  She is locked on and waiting.  I’m very impressed that she waits insteads of jumping on the cat and attacking- she doesn’t show the same restraint when it comes to something she wants from Keith or me.  But I imagine it may have something to do with the “smack down” she received from Trooper early this year.

Bathroom has been textured, wainscoting is mostly finished.  I will be painting the bathroom Behr “Pensive Sky” and the wainscoting is “Powdered Snow”.  Can’t wait to see the color up!

Wall repaired, baseboard & door trim added and the hardware on the cabinets…. and 5 rubbermaid containers of pantry items, bakeware and miscellaneous household items that have been in my living room since May are now empty!!

Cherry wood cabinets, paint color is Glidden “Napa Valley”.  Trim will be Behr “Powdered Snow”.

Keith and I both took 2 days off to make a 5 day window in order to finish the bathroom.  NO. We didn’t finish in the time i’ve been away!!!

But we’re very close now.  This is our friend, Hank, delivering the cabinets he built for us!  They match the kitchen cabinets we had another friend build for us a few years ago when we remodeled the kitchen.  We are so lucky we have friends with a talent!  I’m not sure what we bring to the table…

The kitchen only took 2.5 months.  The bathroom is now in it’s 5th month!!!

I’ve decided to just start up where i am now instead of trying to backfill the MONTHS of missing photos. I will get organized and fill in as i get caught up, but right now, it’s overwhelming.

I’m not sure I’ll do a POTD again next year- how about you? I am thinking I’ll take my normal amount of pictures and once a week, find one that sums up the week and do a scrapbook page with that photo (minimum one, but not limited to one) and journal about that week.
I will do a blog and just post when I take a picture, vs daily.

BUT I DIGRESS. 10 October – Saturday. A wedding. This is my hubby. In a gorgeous rental tux. Whom I caught laughing with another groomsman while waiting for the seemingly endless formal photos to be done. We were beerless and ready to party and the formal shots took sooo longgggg.

It was a fun wedding and a great day (once we got some beer). I took 1161* photos! YOU CAN SEE THEM ALL on my flickr site… just kidding.  There are 60 so far.  Still working my way through those photos, the Gran Fondo and Hawaii. But since the wedding has come and gone, I may actually catch up this week!

*edited 10/26- that number is wrong- i’m not sure what happened, but it was only about 300 photos!! Whew!

So there I was… 6am, Finley Center in Santa Rosa - in a room loaded up with motorcycle drivers, emergency medical technicians, SAG wagon drivers and professional photographers.  PROFESSIONAL PHOTOGRAPHERS with 3 cameras strapped upon their person with lenses that made my little camera & kit lens feel, well… a tad INADEQUATE.  Heh.

Somehow my husband’s cycling club reserved a seat on a motorcycle (helps that he’s a cop with the department too) for ME to sit on and take photos of them during the Levi Leipheimer King Ridge Gran Fondo event.  Goodlord, the fear and anxiety that fell over me just thinking about it!  I wasn’t worried about the motorcycle, I was worried I’d fail miserably in the quest to provide decent “action” shots of the club.  Letting down 40 cops isn’t something I really wanna do.

But IT WAS A BLAST!  I really think I need my own motorcycle now.  I rode with a great guy and can’t believe how much fun it was.  And despite my TEENY WEENY lens (28-70), I got a few good shots.  You can see 80 of the 720 on my flickr site if you like.  The web pics are all low res, so don’t look too close!
