Spent the day at AT&T Park watching the SF Giants get beaten up by the Houston Astros.  This photo is of Rich Aurillia and the one home run the Giants got today.  Randy Johnson started but a shoulder injury benched him at the 4th inning.   But the weather was nice and we got there early enough to get one of the 20,000 free tee’s they were giving away.  I’m giving mine to Keith’s dad since I don’t wear tees.  No likey crew necks.  We had a beer at Acme Chophouse before the game.

I forgot to upload the photo of McCovey Cove and the stadium I took while walking to the parking lot.  I made Keith stop (again) so I could take it because the water/sky/stadium were so pretty that afternoon.  I’ll upload it when I’m home in the morning.

Happy 4th of July!  We went to Rhonda & Eric’s house.  She bought a fixer upper directly across the street from the field area of Healdsburg High School when she moved out of our granny unit last November.  Coincidentally, the Healdsburg Fireworks show is done at the high school.    We had front row seats on her front lawn.  Tom & Jackie parked at our house and we walked the mile to Rhonda’s with a glass of Quivera Steelhead Sauvignon Blanc in hand, jackets, chairs and potluck foods.  It was a bit of a haul. 

Did you know Healdsburg muni code allows people to walk in public with a full wine glass?  Not an open bottle of wine, not an open bottle of beer- but a glass of said beverage is fine.  At least that was what Keith said and we all went with that. Heh heh.  But the cop we walked past just waved at us- so it must be okay?     If the Healdsburg Dispatchers are reading this, can you clarify? I’d hate to get anyone in trouble!

The show was great.  I bought a remote shutter release, set up my tripod and crossed my fingers.  Keith and I took turns with the remote and we got quite a few good shots!  Halfway through the fireworks show, we were suddenly aware of some excessive screaming.  Not excited happy screaming, but panicky screaming.  Then we saw FLAMES AND SMOKE!  The school caught on fire!!  Fortunately, Healdsburg Fire was standing by and the flames were doused quickly.  Then happy cheering for the firefighters saving the day- and the show started up again.   It was a great 4th.  Hope yours was just as fun and that no un-planned fires occurred!!

Filming at night til 2am…

Dancing! In the Healdsburg Plaza!!  AND I WORK TIL 2AM!!  My sister was at a local social gathering (Wine Divas- a group of local business women who meet once a month to socialize and, uhhh drink wine) tonight and of course, this was the talk.  One of the diva’s husband is on the set tonight as an extra- he was told to be prepared to stay til 3am- or possibly 7am.  You bet I’ll be driving the long way home via the plaza at 2:20 am.  I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to see colorfully attired dancers lit up with stage lights .  If there is anything at all to take a picture of, you know it’ll be here later!!!

Another Healdsburg home- this one is on North Street at University Av.  The roses on the fence were so vividly red that I made Keith stop yet again for me to take another picture of something!!

Bollywood update

My sister and I drove past the My Name is Khan  set, which has taken over 2 homes on Green’s drive,  twice on Tues and I went again on Weds.  We actually saw the groupies interviewed in this updated news article.   And tonight they were filming in the Healdsburg Plaza and I was stuck at work. Ugh!

More Bollywood Stalking.  This is one of the 2 houses on Greens Dr that was taken over for the set.  I surreptiously took a pic of… well, nothing too exciting, while my sister drove her car by.  This was our 2nd time driving by.  The 1st time, the front yard was full of “party dressed extras” sitting down in chairs lined up in the front yard.   I wish I was more assertive (or courageous?) to be one of those annoying paparazzi types.  Or maybe I should just get a bigger lens… heh heh….

2 months til Hawaii.  4 months til Veronica’s wedding.  I’ve started a weight training program 3 days a week and cardio on the alternate days.  Today was day 1.  So far so good!

By the way- the 10k didn’t go as planned- we were fully involved in bathroom demo.  Another race, another time – it’s still a goal for 2009.

My weekly adventure… hmm. Let’s see. 2 hours, 1 visit a week since May 24th – 6 trips so far.  $17 each time.  I’m hoping we can get the tile floor done by my birthday- July 20th.  I would really like my new washer/dryer delivered that week!

Keith & Mike, my Father in Law, working on the dang shower drain.  It cost us a full weekend – when we had hoped to have the subfloor in.
